Cri de Coeur / Heart of Darkness Fall Preview
I was so excited to get a sneak peek at the upcoming Fall line of luxury shoes from Cri de Coeur and Heart of Darkness last week. I have to say, I was blown away. As everyone knows from my Massive Fall Boot Guide last week, I’m all about boots. And I really have never seen vegan boots quite like the ones with the wedges, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing them in the pages of Coco Eco Magazine in the next few months. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they pop up in Lucky too. All Cri de Coeur shoes are made of a naturally breathable faux leather and ultrasuede made from recycled plastic. Since I haven’t seen the boots or tried them on, unfortunately I can’t attest to the actual feel or the fit, but the pictures alone make my mouth water. I hope they look as good “in person” as they do here. Enjoy my favorite selections.
Now, if you want a shoe that goes with every outfit, the hot Erin might not be for you, but if you want a shoe that turns heads, this is probably it. Rock concert boots for sure. Also comes in the less adventurous two-tone colors on the right, and shorter ankle styles called the Allison.
Dillion, Over-Knee Laceup, Approx $450 and Sara, Mid-Height Lacup, Approx $390
Okay, so the Sara (in black of course) is my favorite because it’s a style of boots that I love (wedges) because they are so much more comfortable than heels. The color is a little muted in these photos so I’m not sure if it’s a true black or kind of grayish, but regardless, these are shoe that could go with everything. The Dillion looks amazing (really, where recently have you seen a high fashion vegan boot like that?), although I tend to say away from over the knee styles because I think they make my short legs look shorter. Boo.
The Cri de Coeur line finishes up with several styles of purses, available in a range of Fall colors, prices $290 – $435. Tilly on the far right (and pictured below with the Jean clog) and Lucy (far right) in particular catch my eye.
Tilly, Fridge Crossbody, Approx $280
Jean, Studded Clog, Approx $350
Heart of Darkness (best shoe line name EVER) is Cri de Coeur’s less expensive line of shoes, with prices almost half of the previously mentioned styles, and focusing on pumps and boots with lots of velvet and even a “fake pony hair.” Although it is a bit hard to tell the quality from the photos, here are my favs of the group:
Glamour, Velvet Platform Pump, Approx $110 (on left)
Luster, Peep-Toe Platform Pump, Faux Pony Hair, Approx $110 (on right)
I’m really not into velvet, but I love royal blue and the height of the heel on the Glamour. It’s so hard to find vegan shoes with a decent heel. I think the attraction of the Luster is the “faux pony hair,” as I don’t think I’ve seen that before. On the fence about the pattern. But again height!

Splendor, Mid Height Buckle Boot, Approx $140

Ravishing, Over-the-Knee Boot with Buckles, Approx $150

Charisma, Laceup Tall Boot, Approx $150
The Heart of Darkness line rounds out with a few boot styles, a selection shown above. The black laceup Charisma and buckle boots Splendor are my favorites of the group, even though we’ve seen those a lot recently. The Ravishing in Wine, far left, looks promising, although the material looks more canvas than PU. The three styles are “weatherproof” which is a bonus.
All in all, a really strong collection. I’m more excited about the Cri de Coeur styles because of the wedge boots, but the company gets props for offering more affordable choices as well with Heart of Darkness. I definitely think the Fall line is much more fashion forward and exciting than anything I’ve seen from them before.
Cri de Coeur and Heart of Darkness styles will start appearing for purchase on Endless later this month.

I think i´m in love !
